Looking to have a better hair wash routine? It is said that a healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp! RevitaLash Cosmetics simply states it as the root cause of any hair issue. Here is a step-by-step guide to getting results to a healthier scalp.

Step 1:

Wet your hair

Step 2:

It’s important to know that the dirtiest part of your hair is the mid top back section of your hair, that is where the oil likes to hide and take a vacation in.

Now, part your hair in two, get your shampoo and DO not lather, I repeat DO NOT lather your shampoo.

Squeezing shampoo on hand

Place some of your shampoo first on the top back of your hair, and push it up into your scalp!

Next, take your shampoo and push it up against your scalp an inch from your hairline and run it right over on top. Now get the rest of your shampoo, spread it on your hands (once or twice), apply and push up on the sides of your scalp.

A reminder: for better results and cleaner hair, the scalp is our aim not our hair.

Step 3:

After getting the shampoo in those areas, massage and scrub firmly into your scalp. Not too hard, you don’t want to irritate your scalp. But enough pressure to get into those stubborn oils in your hair.

Scrub on hair

Now, properly rinse shampoo off of your hair.

Step 4:

This is the mind-blowing part, in 25 years of my life I never knew I had to do this. But you actually need to wash your hair TWICE! I’ve seen results by washing my hair twice. One of my good sisters said it decreased the dandruff within her hair.

Therefore, repeat steps 2 and 3 again, BUT this time only apply a small amount of shampoo. With that being said, when you apply it onto your scalp pay attention to it.

Meaning, while scrubbing your scalp if there are a lot of suds, it means your hair is clean, if there are less suds, your hair is not clean; repeat steps 2 and 3 again if that is the case.

Step 5:

After the shampooing phase, it is essential to know that conditioner should be applied “from the mid-lengths of your hair to the tips. Avoid the scalp as it can make it oily” according to Patene.

However, applying a little bit on top of your scalp will not hurt, this will especially help if you have dry and brittle hair.

Step 6:

Rinse conditioner off of hair

Rinse Hair

Finally, if there is conditioner still in your hair no matter how many times you wash it, according to a ‘Blowout Professional’, he actually encourages you to leave it in there. It will help with the hydration of your hair.

Step 7:

Repeat these steps for your hair wash routine. And I guarantee you, you will see a difference!
